Never get between a man and his bottle of ketchup.
That's a lesson one Tennessee woman learned the hard way when she attempted to stab her neighbor with a knife, only to be squirted with the tomato sauce.
A couple in Mufreesboro awoke around 2.45am to the sound of their neighbor, Shalonda Latrice Shepard, banging on their front door last week.
When the couple opened the door, Shepard allegedly threw a bowl of sugar over them. She then allegedly pulled out a steak knife and began to stab the woman.
The woman's husband ran into the kitchen, desperate to find something he could use to stop the attack.
He then came back outside with a bottle of ketchup and squirted it on Shepard, according to the Daily News Journal.
Shepard immediately stopped stabbing the woman and 'became very angry about the ketchup', according to the report.
'[She] stated she was going to "take care of them in the morning" and fled the apartment', it added.
The woman was hospitalized and treated for lacerations on her left elbow and left upper back as well as small cuts to her stomach.
Shepard was charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespass.
She was released on $20,500 bond and is due to appear in court in July.
