This year, Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, the nation’s largest pyrotechnic display, comes to life over the East River with barges stationed between East 23rd and 40th sts., putting a special spotlight on Greenpoint and Williamsburg Brooklyn. Beginning at approximately 9:25 pm, this year’s dazzling spectacle will mark Macy’s largest display since the Millennial Celebration with more than 75,000 shells accompanied by a rousing patriotic score from the West Point Band and Glee Club and featuring a special rendition of “God Bless America” from superstar Kelly Clarkson in honor of the 100th anniversary of “God Bless America” composer, Irving Berlin. From parks to historic ‘hoods to rooftop lounges, there are tons of places in NYC to catch the kaleidoscope of color. Also make sure to cash in on some great dining specials happening around the city. Here are just a few.

Front Row Fireworks

Front Row Fireworks is offering some New York’s best view of the 42nd annual Macy’s Fireworks show at the East 34th St. Heliport from 6 pm-midnight. This day-to-night blowout provides ticket holders with exclusive access to a private East Riverfront locale where guests will be front and center for America’s most famed fireworks show. This private event gives guests exclusive access past the packed crowds and delivers an over-the-top July 4th celebration complete with live music, various food vendors serving up barbeque, burgers and everything in between with multiple fully stocked bars and beer tents. Entertainment includes life-size versions of your favorite games including giant Jenga, ping pong, chess and more courtesy of Clinton Hall and Slate. General Admission starts at $35, reserved seating starts at $75, and reserved tables start at $400 per four people.

Domino Park

Greenpoint’s newest addition, Domino Park, has already become a summer Instagrammable destination for North Brooklynites and visitors alike. This spot is gonna be one of the best spots to catch the fireworks this year. Beyond skyline views, the refurbished spot has a dog run, a bocce court, beach volleyball, and naturally, ample tables and chairs for sucking down margaritas and grilled pork tacos at Danny Meyer’s latest venture, an affordable taco stand called Tacocina. Stake out a spot on the elevated walkway for firework views.

The Crown

The Crown is one of those rooftops with crisp, cream-colored sofas that never seem to stain. The space is dope and minimalist, with floor to ceiling windows with 360-degree views of Manhattan and, more importantly, the official Macy’s fireworks over the East River. General admission tickets get you a free cocktail and one hour of vodka open bar. Without a bad seat in the house, this spot is gonna be lit.

Schimanski Nightclub

If you're more into partying it up instead of camping outside for the fireworks, head to nightclub Schimanski in Williamsburg to jam with French DJ and tropical house producer Klingande to America for an all-star musical set kicking off at 10 pm. If you want the best of both worlds, step out onto North 11th Street before the show and catch the fireworks over the East River before dancing the night away.
