Princess Eugenie’s upcoming royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank could pose a huge problem to Princess Beatrice.
Alahna Kindred, a journalist for Express, said that Princess Beatrice may find herself “homeless” after Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank tie the knot on Oct. 12. This is because Prince Andrew is believed to be canceling his lease at the four-bedroom apartment that his daughters are sharing on the grounds of St. James’ Palace.
[post_ads]The Duke of York reportedly pays Queen Elizabeth II over $25,000 annually to rent the property out. They are required to pay for the apartment because Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are not considered to be working royals.
In 2008, the siblings renovated their home with the use of the taxpayers’ money. Earlier this year, Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank moved in their three-bedroom, two-story property at the Ivy Cottage, which is located on the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice is currently residing in New York for her work. She is not directly affected by Prince Andrew’s decision to not pay the rent on the four-bedroom abode. But when she returns to London, she won’t have her own place to stay in.
Luckily for the 30-year-old princess, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson reside in the Royal Lodge, and she can just join them there during their visit. Unfortunately, a spokesperson for St. James’ Palace told Kindred that she cannot comment on the financial arrangements of Prince Andrew.
In related news, Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank will tie the knot on Oct. 12 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Princess Beatrice will serve as her sister’s maid of honor. A carriage procession will follow around Windsor following the ceremony.
Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank’s reception will take place at the Royal Lodge, and it will be paid for by Prince Andrew and Ferguson.
