Ole Miss punter Mac Brown had a pretty sweet idea that took off in a big way. He decided to open a lemonade stand to raise money for a friend’s father who had been diagnosed with ALS, calling it the Awesome Lemonade Stand (ALS), with the goal of raising $500.
Well, that goal has been met, and then some.
The lemonade stand has been going since Brown was in seventh grade. It continues to raise money to this day, and continues to benefit ALS research.
“I really didn’t think (it would get this big),” Brown said recently, per USA Today Sports. “I wanted it to. Originally, it was just me and my buddies doing a lemonade stand. Now it’s communities coming together (from) all over Minnesota and are coming to the lemonade stand. It’s awesome.”
Very awesome.
