Things became pretty heated between Carole Radziwill and Bethenny Frankel during “The Real Housewives of New York City” Season 10 reunion episode. The stars, whose friendship fell apart in front of viewers during the latest run of the Bravo series, appeared to give fans a glimmer of hope that their relationship could be salvaged in the season finale.
However, the Wednesday reunion proved otherwise. Even though Carole expressed her regrets about how she and Bethenny failed to fix their friendship, the 55-year-old took to Twitter that same night to shade her former bestie and call out her behavior on the show.
When one fan attempted to defend Bethenny’s harsh comments towards Carole, suggesting she simply didn’t know how to fix their friendship, the former ABC News employee slammed the notion that her co-star’s cruel words were justified.
“This reminds me of mothers who tell their daughters that the little boy is pulling her hair ‘because he likes her.’ We have to stop making excuses for people who behave outside the norm as though their suffering is unique. It’s not. #RHONYReunion,” Carole tweeted.
The Emmy Award-winning journalist also called out the Skinnygirl brand after Bethenny insulted Carole’s friend, who suggested the name was inappropriate for this day and age.
“Yes Bethenny was offensive. She makes money off of girls who she age shames & skinny shames. I think she should listen to some very good advise from my friend and re-brand. By the way, I believe B is turning 49 years old. It’s nuts [sic],” she told a fan.
At the reunion, Carole admitted she hoped the two could repair their friendship, but the idea became impossible after learning what Bethenny said behind her back when the season aired.
“My regret was that Bethenny and I could never get to a place where… I thought maybe by the end of the season we would be speaking and then reconnect,” Carole told reunion host Andy Cohen.
“Because that friendship was important to me. And that never happened. I wish that we had had some kind of conversation so we could have put it into context. It was just hard. I tried. That’s my regret, that I failed.”
When the “RHONY” reunion ended, both Carole and Bethenny agreed their friendship was over. Bethenny has not responded to Carole’s tweets.
