Gwen Stefani may have moved on to new a relationship with Blake Shelton, but that doesn’t mean she is completely done with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. The former spouses, who share three sons together, are reportedly having issues co-parenting their kids.
Before finalizing their divorce in 2016, Stefani began dating Shelton after spending time together on “The Voice.” Even though Rossdale eventually moved on to model Sophia Thomalla, the two have struggled to see eye-to-eye when it comes to Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, 4.
Sources told Us Weekly Stefani and Rossdale attended a mediation session on Wednesday to talk about their “ongoing parenting issues they have over their three children.”
The “Hollaback Girl” singer was represented by Anne Kiley, while attorney Laura Wasser accompanied the Bush guitarist. “Gwen and Gavin have been in mediation all day since 10:30 a.m. at their respective lawyer’s office building in Los Angeles. Their lawyers occupy the same building so logistically it was easy to facilitate,” the insider shared.
While it is unclear what has caused Stefani and Rossdale to disagree about their children, the stars were both granted joint custody in their divorce. The rock star is currently touring with his band, while the “Spark the Fire” singer is expected to resume her Las Vegas residency in December.
“The hope is at the end of this, both Gwen and Gavin will agree to take co-parenting classes as that will only benefit the children,” the source explained.
News of Stefani’s conflict with her ex-husband comes amid rumors she and Shelton are planning to get married. Although the couple has been dating for almost three years, a wedding may not be in the cards for them just yet.
During an April appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the “No Doubt” singer refused to reveal whether the two were getting married, but admitted she and her boys truly care for the country crooner. “Everybody loves him. He’s lovable. I think about [marriage] all the time,” she said.
Even though Stefani is dealing with some challenges in her personal life, over on Instagram, the star happily shares photos and videos of her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Shelton’s Instagram avatar is a photo of Stefani’s “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” album.
Shelton didn’t attend the latest mediation session, but sources revealed Stefani and Rossdale are attempting to solve their issues for the sake of their children.
