Mexico's Puerto International Airport Vallarta is busier than ever.
Currently, the airport offers flights to more than 50 destinations around the world, including Helsinki, Los Angeles, San Diego and Chicago and transporting nearly 5 million passengers a year.
Recent investments in the airport have allowed for improved connectivity in Puerto Vallarta. Passengers now have access to a free wireless Internet network and there is a new International VIP Lounge.
New connectivity is being added in the coming months as well, including an expected addition of a connection to Panama.
Aeroportuario del PacÃfico (GAP) also discussed a new airport expansion, part of its Master Development Plan for the 2015-2019 five-year period.
“We are planning a completely new terminal building, with more space, excellent services and commercial areas so that passengers enjoy their travel experience,” said Raul Revuelta, general director of GAP, in a statement.
The new terminal will span more than 200,000 square feet and include five new jetways and six security lines.
“Through the International Airport of Puerto Vallarta we seek to contribute to the economic and tourist development of the States of Jalisco and Nayarit, giving a better service and image to Mexicans and foreigners who visit them,” said Revuelta.
