Not that it's any surprise, but Chevrolet has hinted that more powerful Corvettes are coming. Given its storied legacy and the fact it has been around for the past three consecutive generations of Corvette, we can bet a new Z06 will be among them. In the meantime, feast your eyes on these renderings that provide an idea of what the hotter Corvette could look like.

If you thought the Corvette Stingray had a bold design, get ready for the new Z06 to turn up the heat even further. As it has in the past, the Corvette Z06 will likely share design cues with the racing version. The C8.R, which is set to debut this fall, should give us an idea what to expect. Its aggressive rear wing, new front splitter, side vent, and diffuser would certainly give the Z06 the sharp look it needs to live up to its high-performance aspirations.

Rumor has it that the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 could stray from the familiar supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 in favor of a twin-turbo setup. The current 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 makes 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, and we should expect the new version to exceed that output. Of course, it will also pack a whole lot more juice than the 2020 Stingray's maximum 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Look for a much higher price tag to match; prices for the 2019 Z06 coupe start at $81,995.
